The C's of Success
It seems like a long time since I have had the opportunity to speak with you. So much has been going on, it is difficult to know where to start. But perhaps I will just share some thoughts that touched me a few weeks ago. These thoughts are not original; instead they come from the collection of Dr. Tom Morrison. He synthesized several philosophers’ thoughts and musings into his work, “The 7 C’s of Success”. I think they all apply to us at this very moment. Success is something that means more than just money; these principles apply to family, children, personal values as well as business. So, here are the first three C’s of success according to Dr. Morrison:
1.) A clear Conception of what we want, a vivid vision, a goal clearly imagined.
My interpretation is this; we cannot achieve what we can’t conceive.
2.) A strong Confidence that we can attain the goal.
My thinking is that we must believe in ourselves, our contemporaries, our company and our collective ability to achieve. Given my experience of who you are, who we are as a group, I am very confident.
3.) A focused Concentration on what it takes to reach the goal.
Remember when your coach or teacher told you to focus! I believe we all know most of the steps to take to achieve a goal. But to truly succeed, we need to keep a laser sharp focus and emphasis on the steps necessary to achieve our goals.
So remember, Conception, Confidence and Concentration. The first of 7 C’s of success. I’ll share a few more next time we speak. Have a wonderful and successful week. God Bless.
